Well it seems that most of us are waiting for the Zombie Apocalypse the same way a child waits for Christmas morning, millions of zombies everywhere to kill, marauders to deal with and no government to tell us what to do. Pure joy! Hang on a moment…. The vast majority of the scenarios we think about when it comes to zombies involving humanity, the civilized World falls apart in about 30mins or at the most overnight. What if it won’t be that straight forward?
A great threat to humanity as a whole is some type of viral pandemic, similar to the Influenza. Let’s say, oh I don’t know an outbreak occurs in Chile. The Zombie Agent and the Flu virus combine in this sort of air borne super virus. It bares all the symptoms of the flu just much worse, plus everyone who dies from it wakes up feeling peckish for humans.
Thanks to our easy free movement around the world the virus is easily spread. The Center for Disease Control in the United States and the W.H.O. do everything they can to deal with it but it continues to spread. 99% of people infected die slow painful deaths, and turn into lumbering backs of shit. Those that do recover are left with serious health problems.
Every countries health system begins to crack under the pressure. Some people will no doubt be immune, but not from the zombie bites.
Our society will begin to collapse, but slowly. Governments would cling to power desperately trying to maintain order. Soldiers would spend as much time clearing up bodies as protecting the people from zeds, and each other. Even the ordinary citizen could be drafted in to help with the cleanup.
Misery and Depression would be rife. People would be taking their own lives left, right, and center.
Shops would empty. Services would stop. Governments would take much harder lines on people breaking the law. Shoot first ask questions later.
But you’ll be alright. After all you’re prepared. But what do you do if one of your loved ones gets sick? Do you kill them as soon as they get ill, or watch them go through this vicious virus on the hope they’re one of the few to recover. And what if you get sick? Do you end it, or do you hang on hoping for the best.
I don’t know about you, but this type of Zombie Apocalypse doesn’t sound like much fun to me.
“I’ll be back!” >Arnie<

“Some people will no doubt be immune, but not from the zombie bites.” Well, have you ever read Stephen Kings ‘The Stand’(If you haven’t, the uncut expanded edition is the best)? In it the government inject Stu Redmond with a huge amount of the virus and he fights it off easily, he’s immune to it, now lets say the zombie virus is like Captain Trips (Blue, Agent blue, Tube Neck, ect.) and it can’t be cured, or at least not very easily, because it mutates fast, and like what I said about Stu Redmond, what if the people that are immune can avoid being infected by the bites, and I would bet money that at least 50% of the survivors would be the people that are immune. (kind of random, but I’m immune to smallpox xD) So I guess you can take that in to consideration.
