Now most people think about what vehicle they will build up before the zombie apocalypse or what they will swipe but few think too far into the future and here is where reality bitch slaps you. Now in the real world many of us buy vehicles with our thoughts on gas usage, insurance and on highway vs. city driving.
When the zompoc comes there will be no car insurance and there’s going to be 5 considerations that you may not have thought of:
1)Â Â Â Â Â Gas Usage
2)Â Â Â Â Â Can it bust through hordes
3)Â Â Â Â Â Can it carry all my supplies/people
4)Â Â Â Â Â Can I repair it
5)Â Â Â Â Â Can I get replacement parts.
Now many have watched The Walking Dead and seen the Winnebago having problems with hoses. When it comes to hoses there are a few hose sizes but generally you will find a hose that works but there are parts that are vehicle specific.
Vehicles are very hard to predict as there are some that share similar or exactly the same parts as another yet some parts are rare. When it comes to similarities it usually comes to company relations. In this case GM is usually a good group since it includes Chevy and Pontiac. Others with similarities is the Ford Mercury and Mazda (yeah I know you were going to say Lincoln but Lincoln although owned by ford likes to run stuff differently). When looking for vehicles that you can get parts for, you should look at what’s common on the roads. Are there many Jeeps or Ford tempos near you? If there are these make great options as you will be able to get parts after the Zompoc for your particular ride.
Don’t forget gas mileage isn’t your only worry when the zeds come.
