Over the last few days I’ve noticed a lot of hate directed towards Shane in TWD for what he did to fat boy Otis. And I’m having a hard time working out why.
Shane. Along with the rest of the Motley Crew have been trying to survive a zompocs with no help for months. (And were doing a pretty good job of it till Rick showed up) This appearance was bound to take its toll on some making them harder, colder, and willing to sacrifice to get the job done. That’s all Shane is doing making shitty decisions that others couldn’t. (History is written by the victors. Not the ones with the highest morals.)
Let’s face it how can any of us possibly know what we’re likely to do after the Zeds show up? Last time I checked there hadn’t been a Zompocs or any other type of apocalypse for that matter.
Even those of you who have been in the hardest, most pressurized situations had something the characters in TWD don’t have. Hope. They’ve got nowhere safe to go. They’ve got no one coming to rescue them. They’re on their own.
As for the whole shoot him in the head thing. Shane wanted to use Otis as a road block. Shooting him in the head might have made him less tasty to the dead. Rick is a good moral noble leader but out of this bunch I’d have Shane and Daryl in my group because they might not be pretty about it, but at least I’d know shit would get done. Remember the Zompocs will be the complete collapse of our modern society. Not a fucking picnic.
One last thing. another website asked a question tonight, “on a scale of 1-10 how prepared are you for the Zompocs” most said 10. Question how do you prepare for something that’s never happened? Hmmm.
“I’ll be back!” >Arnie<
